Microgaming lands deal with popular comic book publisher

According to online casino development company Microgaming, the most profitable trend for online casinos in 2012 will be branded slots, CasinoAdvisor.com reports. This means companies should look into creating online slot machines that are based off of popular movies, games or even rock bands to entice gambling enthusiasts.

Microgaming has already taken its predictions to heart, signing a licensing agreement with DC Entrainment, the company responsible for releasing DC comics. According to the source, DC Comics is currently one of the most popular publishers of superhero comic books in the world.

The partnership means Microgaming can create online slot machines branded with such famous heroes as Batman, which the company plans to use heavily, especially with the release of the eagerly-awaited The Dark Knight Rises.

"The Batman films are one of the most famous film series in the world, with Batman's logo internationally recognized," Roger Raatgever, chief executive officer of Microgaming, told the publication. "[It is an] achievement for Microgaming to supply online gaming software based on such a major and popular franchise. The Microgaming market-leading technology will ensure that the online slot games developed for The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises do justice to the popularity of this brand."
