Anti-gambling senator up in arms over potential Facebook deal

With multiple sources buzzing that Facebook will allow online gambling with real money in the UK, one senator is putting his foot down to try and stop it, the Herald Sun reports.
Australian anti-gambling senator Nick Xenophon, is voicing his concern over the possibility that Facebook will soon be allowing online gambling. He believes that the ease of getting into online slots, table games and more from the popular website may create a new generation of problem gamblers.
"Mark Zuckerberg needs to do the right thing - he is already worth a few billion bucks," Xenophon told the publication. "Does he really want to make money off the vulnerable and the addicted?"
According to the source, Facebook is reportedly in talks to use the UK as a test site for real cash games on the website. Games will range from virtual poker, to bingo, roulette and slots. The plan is set to be put in place during the first quarter of 2012.
Xenophon has written a letter to Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg to gain clarification on what the plan actually consists of.
Do you think Facebook is a suitable outlet to advertise online gambling? Would you try it from your own social networking page?
